Did Jesus Leave A Last Will & Testament?

Have you missed out on your inheritance? A Last Will and Testament is often used to determine what you get as an inheritance when someone dies. Jesus died so that you could receive what pertains to you as promised in the Bible.

These very basic definitions will help you understand God’s plan and promises better:

Testament/Covenant– agreement between individuals or groups usually legal. It’s like a promise with conditions.

Old Testament– first big part of the Bible, God’s first agreement with man based on laws, rules, blessings, curses and sacrifice, history of creation, Israel, and foreshadows Jesus and also God’s relationship with His chosen people and Gentiles.

New Testament– second big part of the Bible, story of Jesus coming to Earth to fulfill all requirements of the Old Testament/Covenant because humanity could not, how the Holy Spirit lives in us and how the church started, letters to people and places explaining the difference between the Old and New Testament and how to love God and have a relationship with Him.

The Bible defines seven different covenants. The Abrahamic, The Land Covenant, Mosaic, and Davidic are specific to Israel. Of those four, three are unconditional and God will fulfill these covenants (regardless of their obedience) with Israel. One of the covenants, the Mosaic Covenant, was conditional in nature. That is, this covenant brought either blessing or cursing depending on Israel’s obedience or disobedience. The Adamic, Noahic, and New are made between God and humanity instead of Israel alone.

God is a God of covenant. A covenant is basically a deep promise that is not to be broken. God created the first covenant to show humanity that He wanted to be faithful to us, but there was no way for us to be completely faithful to Him. That was called the Law. Humans could never be perfect enough to keep it, but Jesus fulfilled it for us. Jesus became the NEW covenant for us. A new promise fulfilled so that we can receive what Jesus did as if we did it ourselves. The covenant is the foundation of sozo/salvation. Read more about sozo and what you receive as your inheritance in the previous blog, The Gospel of the Kingdom.

Deuteronomy 7:9

Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.

Matthew 26:28

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
