Did Jesus Take Vacations?

Jesus is our perfect example of how to walk in real relationship with Father while we’re here on Earth. During His time here in the flesh, He was bombarded by every force in Hell and every human need you can imagine at all times. You and I face some of the same issues: friends, family, jobs, projects etc. Distractions were out there for Jesus and they’re there for us too. Often these distractions happen to be electronic.

If Jesus made it a common practice to draw away in solitude, you and I should do the same. Many of the most powerful saints to walk the face of the planet made a point to value times of solitude and silence. It is a spiritual discipline to grow in being comfortable while being still and undistracted. Leave your electronics, others and take your Bible, a journal and pen and set time away to honor God with all of your attention. Warning, you may want to stay with Him for hours when you get into it.

You aren’t acting lazy or self-centered to do a bit of soul care. You are acting like Jesus. I know you know these things. Often you just have to apply them. So, don’t just do something, stand there.
